Spring is here: is it time to switch to a bloom fertiliser?

What to look for in a bloom fertiliser
The three numbers on a fertiliser label show its NPK analysis: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). They describe the percentage by weight of total nitrogen, phosphate and potash in the product. They are useful, but they are not a simple “leaf, root, flower” switchboard.
Nitrogen
Supports chlorophyll, proteins and leafy shoot growth. Essential at every stage, but easy to overemphasise when flowers and fruit are the goal.
Phosphorus
